Student-tested Tips to Ace Your Final Exam

As a grizzled veteran of college and a "woe is me" senior, I always get a good guffaw when hearing whatever lore is spreading among the freshman population on campus. But working out which rumors are true certainly isn't easy -- which is why you obviously need my sage advice.
I'm going to take five common perceptions about college life and tell you which are true and which are faker than Paris Hilton's cup size. …
1. Truth or Myth? It's harder than high school.
Truth. For students drilled in the militaristic art of AP testing, classes might not come as too big of a challenge right out the gate. As we all know, though, college is way more than just cramming for tests and writing papers. It’s tough to learn how to divide your time smartly (as in doing what you want to do vs. what you should do) and, more importantly, knowing which hottie to hit on in mass comm class. Gulp.
2. Truth or Myth? You'll miss your old friends.
Myth. OK, so as not to sound like a complete cynic, maybe this is a half-truth. What you should know is that you're going to meet some awesome people no matter where you go to school and, soon enough, those friends you had at home will be relegated to a monthly text message. Crap, I’m being cynical again. Maybe you'll text them twice a month?
3. Truth or Myth? Time flies while you're there.
Truth. Trust me on this one. Time has whizzed by faster than a race between Usain Bolt, a cheetah and me driving a Maserati. I still remember my first-year dorm -- and all the antics from said dorm -- vividly. So don't waste your time doing stupid stuff! Oh, wait … isn't that how you spend, like, a quarter of your time in college?
4. Truth or Myth? You're paying to have friends if you go Greek.
Myth. Biggest myth out there ... maybe the guy who created Facebook started spreading it around. If you can afford rushing, pledging and eventually being a full-fledged member of the Greek community, it's entirely worth it. Your fraternity brothers or sorority sisters will become some of your closest compadres. You’ll have lots of connections and, better yet, you'll be able to come back for reunions. Awesome.
5. Truth or Myth? College is the best time of your life.
Truth. Fact. Duh. These are the best four years you will ever enjoy and remember. There really isn’t anything else that needs to be said ... except, ENJOY COLLEGE!
